We love books and we love exploring, so my partner and I are day-tripping around my home state of Massachusetts to check out all the independent bookstores we can find.

This time, we headed out to Newton, MA to check out Newtonville Books. We chose them because they were hosting an event at the nearby West Newton Cinema featuring author, screenwriter, and director John Sayles. My partner is a big fan! We had to get a signed copy of his new book To Save the Man.

While we were in the area, we also stopped in at Hummingbird Books at Chestnut Hill, which was absolutely adorable.
