This one may technically count as a gift store, but since it’s one dedicated to a literary figure, The Thoreau Society Shop in Concord, MA still made our list, especially because they still sell a lot of books. These of course include titles from Henry David Thoreau himself and many of his contemporaries. There are also many newer works as well from other local authors and those writing on similar subjects. Since the store is at Walden Pond, much of the selection focuses on the history and ecology of the area.
